The Mother Chapter seeks to bring light, discussion and support to women as they navigate new normals, belief system shifts, and exploring and celebrating lifestyle and priority changes.
Unlike other online parenting destinations, The Mother Chapter only discusses mom’s milestones—not the baby’s—and helps mothers identify, cope, connect, share and thrive in this new identity.

I’m a Psychologist and I Suffered from Postpartum Depression
I remember googling “When do you feel like yourself again after having a baby.” Google told me that it would take 12 weeks and then I would experience a radical shift. You just have to make it to 12 weeks, I kept repeating to myself, and things will get easier. But this shift never came.
I also realized that taking care of a newborn was nothing like what they had taught me in the classes that I took.
My Career Almost Broke Me But Motherhood Saved Me
My life had been almost entirely defined by my career in my 20s and 30s, and I had never seriously considered having a family. I had also never really stopped to assess whether my 80-100 hour work weeks were actually serving me—at least not until those decades of chronic stress decided to give me a wake-up call.
I learned so much about chronic stress and the dangers of constantly existing in a cortisol-and adrenaline-fueled state with an over-activated central nervous system. I gained access to my body and its insights, including tapping into the calming and restorative benefits of my parasympathetic nervous system.
I also decided that I… wanted to become a mom.
