Apply today.
We are thrilled to share we’re hiring an editorial intern for the spring!
We are launching our first content microsite, The Mother Chapter in January 2024. We are seeking an editorial intern to help with writing, production, research and more.
About the Role:
Beginning in January, Mila & Jo Media is looking for a college senior or recent graduate to join their team. The ideal candidate is hungry to build a career in journalism, digital content and marketing, eager to understand SEO, copywriting and content marketing best practices, has a knack for words, a clear, concise writing style and is always up for any research project. While not necessary to be a mother, at least an interest in parenting/motherhood would be great.
The intern will work remotely and set their hours. While this role is highly administrative, there will also be editorial opportunities.
Lindsay and Jenn will gladly look over story ideas, pitch emails, resumes, cover letters and offer advice on getting into the industry. Monthly, we will have one 30-minute call to answer industry questions and offer feedback on personal work to help the intern grow their career.
All work will be assigned and tracked through Asana. Team meetings are biweekly via Zoom.
Job responsibilities and tasks will include:
Research for client work and content development.
Fact-checking content and deliverables.
Production of blog content in our CMS (Wordpress).
Newsletter production for our newsletters (Substack)
Writing SEO and e-commerce content.
Monthly check-in meetings with Lindsay and Jenn
Rate: $10/hour; up to 50 hours per month for a monthly stipend of $500.
How to apply:
Please send the following to Jenn Sinrich, our chief of editorial and content strategy: jenn@milaandjomedia.com.
Your resume.
A short cover letter detailing your experience and career objectives.
Three links to writing examples. (It’s okay if you don’t have anything published on another website, your blog or class assignments are fine, too!)
We will respond to all inquiries. If interested in moving forward, you will be asked to complete a short edit test and have a Zoom interview.
